Selangor Aerospace Action Plan 2020-2030
Lays out the trajectory for further growth and endeavours to address the hurdles and predicaments confronting the Aerospace industry ecosystem.
The State Government of Selangor has exhibited proactive support for nurturing the expansion of the Aerospace Industry. This rationale prompted a strategic contemplation of devising an Action Plan to systematically address challenges and seize opportunities within the Aerospace ecosystem, thereby potentially establishing a requisite support framework.
Over 67% of the comprehensive Malaysian Aerospace ecosystem is operational within the confines of Selangor. Predominantly encompassing Aero Manufacturing, MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul), Services, training, and more.
To actualize the vision of positioning Selangor as the eminent Aerospace Hub in the region, an exhaustive action plan was meticulously formulated for the Aerospace industry and ecosystem. Its fundamental aim is to strategically orientate growth, development, and positioning, while confronting prevailing challenges head-on.
The Selangor Aerospace Action Plan materialized through a series of sessions, meetings, and dialogues with the Federal Government and State Agencies, as well as active engagement with the Aerospace Community and industry stakeholders. This inclusive approach sought insights on expansion plans, infrastructural needs, and talent requisites.
The Selangor Aerospace Action Plan 2020-2030 is in alignment with the Malaysian Aerospace Blueprint 2030, overseen by the Ministry of Trade and Investment Malaysia and NAICO Malaysia (National Aerospace Industry Coordination Office). This blueprint underscores pivotal sub-sectors, including MRO, Aero Manufacturing, Systems Integration, Engineering & Design, Drones & Air Mobility, Space Development, Research & Development (R&D), Innovation, and Training and Education.
The Selangor Aerospace Action Plan 2020-2030 extends its focus to other key domains in Selangor, including Business Aviation, General Aviation, Sports Aviation, and the ubiquitous challenges that resonate across multiple segments.
Functioning as a strategic toolkit, the Action Plan discerns challenges and endeavours to address them, thereby bridging gaps and steadfastly pursuing the 2030 Vision and Mission. It identifies and assesses a spectrum of issues necessitating attention across seven (7) pivotal domains, encompassing Infrastructures, Regulations, Market Access, Incentives, Funding, Education, and Training.
